BOB TRAILERS, INC. SUPPORTS TREK ACROSS AMERICA WITH IRONMAN STROLLER

Bob Trailers, Inc. (bobgear.com), of Boise, Idaho, has donated their popular Ironman Sport Utility Stroller to P.A.C.E. Run 2006  (pacerun.com) for use by ultra-marathoner Paul Staso as he runs solo across America this summer. The Ironman strollers are the lightest of the BOB line and are versatile. The high-quality slick tires minimize rolling resistance while the stiffer suspension maximizes maneuverability and response. The 20-pound yellow stroller will be pushed through 15 states during 4 months.

"I am thrilled to be using the Ironman Sport Utility Stroller for my 3,200-mile trek across the United States," Staso said. "There are many strollers on the market, but those produced by Bob Trailers are superior in many ways. I'm confident that their Ironman stroller will carry my gear coast to coast and I'll be using it 'out of the box' and unmodified."

Staso's trek across America is to fulfill a promise he made to 96 students in the 4th and 5th grade classes at Russell Elementary School in Missoula, Montana. If they could virtually cross the entire continent by the last day of the school year, he promised that he would set out to actually run their route should they succeed. The curriculum is online at seeusrun.com. The coast-to-coast journey by Staso is scheduled to begin June 23, 2006, at Cannon Beach, Oregon, with the finish slated for Lewes, Delaware in October. Staso contacted Bob Trailers, Inc. and requested their support of what he considers to be the most crucial piece of equipment he'll take - a durable and reliable stroller.

"This is the kind of sponsorship opportunity that we love to participate in,” said Damon Noller, vice president of sales and marketing for BOB. “We are not only supporting a great cause, but also providing a true testament to the Ironman as the ultimate running stroller.”

As the trek progresses, Staso will provide the company with feedback from the road, miles logged, and type of wear and tear on the stroller. The engineers at Bob Trailers will be able to use this data for future considerations in design and materials.

"I'll be training with the Ironman stroller daily, working on weight distribution and daily pacing with a loaded stroller," Staso said. "I expect the total weight to be around 50 pounds once my gear and 2½ gallons of water are added to the stroller. It certainly is good to know that Bob Trailers is behind me every step of the way... or should I say 'ahead' of me?"
